The hero from my upcoming novel, Forever Yours in Christmas Falls, would like to introduce himself to you:
Hey, y’all,
Dallas Parker here. You might’ve heard I have a bit of a bad boy rap. My friends would laugh at that and tell you not to believe everything you hear. But small towns make it hard to shake a reputation once you’ve got one, earned or not.
Having the town drunk as my father doesn’t help. Nor that horrible accident at the sawmill that’s claimed to be my fault. I do take ownership of a few outlandish stunts I pulled in my youth. But nobody got hurt. Morgan’s mother, Ivy Reed, would disagree with that statement. She feels I’m responsible for her family’s greatest tragedy. I managed to stay best friends with her son, Connor. But his sister, Morgan, mostly steered clear of me since her mom pinned me as the bad guy.
Morgan Reed. Smart, sensitive, and beautiful Morgan. She deserved better than the likes of me back in high school, anyway. I’ve straightened out, though. Served time in the Marines. Worked in the sawmill. Chopped trees. And honed my woodworking skills in my spare time. Now I’m all set to open my own furniture store, just before Christmas. Only when I go in to get my place of business in order, who should I run into there but Morgan Reed? Whoa, has she changed.
The plaid skirts, white blouses, and headbands are gone. Her dark, silky hair is long and free, just begging for me to play with it like I’ve always wanted to do. Turns out she has a lease for the same business space I rented. She’s pretty distraught about it, trying to push me out. Not going to happen. Not only is this my chance to start my own business, now it’s an opportunity to prove myself to the girl who stole my heart all those years ago.
~ Best wishes, Dallas Parker
I hope you enjoy Forever Yours in Christmas Falls, which releases October 23rd. Happy reading!!
