The heroine from my upcoming novel, Forever Yours in Christmas Falls, would like to introduce herself to you:
Hi, everyone! I’m Morgan Reed and it’s great to meet you. I can’t believe I’m finally returning to my hometown of Christmas Falls, Tennessee. Going to college and then working in Miami was fun, but I’ve secretly longed for home. Okay, you’re probably wondering why I’ve stayed away for eight years then. I might have a reason or two…
You see, my parents sort of think I got an MBA with my inheritance, not a cosmetology license. Oops! I dread the moment they find out, especially my mom. She’s kept a tight reign over me since that terrible accident when I was a kid and we lost my sister. I understand my mom just wants to keep me safe. I don’t want her to worry about me, either. She’s had enough pain and loss. That’s why I’ve gone along with whatever she’s pushed me to do my entire life.
I was accepted into an MBA program and honestly planned to pursue that degree and then work at my parents’ bank like they wanted me to, but it felt like my soul would shrivel up and die if I went through with it. The truth is I’ve always wanted to be a cosmetologist. So after working at my dream career in Miami, I’ve finally built up the courage to return to Christmas Falls and open up my own beauty salon.
But mom is seriously going to go ballistic. Maybe I’ll just keep my return a secret from my parents a little while longer. In a small town? Not so easy. As if I don’t have enough problems, I arrive in town and drop by to admire the business space I’ve rented, and am shocked that another entrepreneur is moving in—my brother’s best friend, Dallas Parker.
Dallas was a bit of a troublemaker growing up. He was also fun, loyal and honest. I used to have the biggest crush on Dallas. It’s not like I could ever act on it, though, because my mom actually blames him for our family’s terrible tragedy. But my feelings for him were from a long time ago. Now? There’s no way I’ll let his sexy smile distract me from my dream career.
But our landlord is on an African safari and unreachable until Christmas Eve, which means we can’t settle our leasing dispute. So Dallas and I have no choice but to open our businesses together. Join me in Christmas Falls to find out what happens
~ Sincerely, Morgan Reed
