I’m super excited to have a special guest author here today to help celebrate my new release, Forever Yours in Christmas Falls. Please give a warm welcome to: MELINDA CURTIS
Hi! It’s Melinda Curtis waving at you today as I take over Susan’s blog. If you haven’t met me yet, I write sweet romance for Harlequin and sweet romantic comedies. I’m married to my college sweetheart and have 3 kids in college (although to be fair, 1 is married, about to become a father, and going back to get his master’s degree part-time). I’m living in the midst of a home remodel that began in February (Mr. Curtis promises me we’ll be done by Thanksgiving). How do I know Susan? Well, she and I became friends at a local romance writer chapter meeting (mumble-mumble) years ago. She was instrumental in pulling me into the Return to Christmas Falls series.
I want to congratulate Susan on her latest release – Forever Yours in Christmas Falls! I had the pleasure of reading her story last week and it’s a cute, enjoyable read! I love the way Susan injects sass and spunk into her heroines, and I’m very fond of stories about girls having a crush on their older brother’s best friends, which has nothing whatsoever to do with my having crushes on my older brothers’ best friends when I was a teenager…right? LOL!
To celebrate Susan’s release, I’m offering a prize pack with two autographed books – Make Me a Match (3 sweet romantic comedies about matchmaking men in Alaska), Support Your Local Sheriff (a small town sweet romance, my most recent Harlequin release) – plus a DVD of the movie Support Your Local Sheriff (starring James Garner!). My mom is a huge James Garner fan. To enter, tell me if you’re a James Garner fan or not in the comment section. If so, I’d love to hear which of his movies or TV roles are your favorite (Maverick, Rockford Files, Support Your Local Sheriff, Murphy’s Romance, The Notebook, etc.). International winners will receive 3 ebooks.
I had 3 releases this month – Support Your Local Sheriff, Rumor Has It in Christmas Falls, and Heartwarming Holiday Wishes. It was hard to pick which book to feature here, but in keeping with the holiday theme – and because it’s 99 cents – read on to learn more about Heartwarming Holiday Wishes!
This is the fourth year the Harlequin Heartwarming authors (authors of sweet romance) have banded together to put out a holiday collection set in Christmas Town, Maine. That makes 40 total novellas in 4 different collections. Each year, we pick a theme and share characters and locations in this small town whose economy revolves around Christmas. This year, the theme was magic stockings. Characters received or found stockings with notes inside giving love advice – kind of like finding Santa’s fortune cookies!
My contribution to the set – Merry Christmas Carol – is about a couple who always volunteer, but don’t spend enough time doing things for themselves. Carol teaches in a rough part of Philly and is crushed when her “mathletes” rob a house before Christmas. Mike set aside his college dreams to care for his father, who is in a wheelchair. They shared a kiss one New Year’s Eve years ago, but they haven’t talked about it since. In fact, they avoid each other diligently at the holiday season. But this year, all their best-laid plans for helping the town celebrate Christmas seem to go awry and they can no longer avoid talking about that kiss.
Heartwarming Holiday Wishes is a really fun set – 10 stories with quirky characters, tender romance, and beloved holiday traditions. Also included in the box is a coupon worth $1 off a Harlequin Heartwarming regularly priced purchase at Harlequin’s web site. That’s like getting the box set for free!

When we were living at home my Mother was very strict with TV time. She liked the Rockford Files so my brothers and I were able to watch that show. Wow what memories. Thank you for the chance.

I can remember when I was little my mom had to watch Rockford Files every week, so we all sat and watched the show together. She watched some of the older movies also, but I havent seen any of the “newer” movies. I can clearly remember him though and loved the family time spent guessing who dun-it!

Sadly, I am not familiar with James 🙁

James Gardner as Jim Rockford I the Rockford Files. He was quirky but also super smart. He acted incredibly well and he interaction with his co-stars made the show very enjoyable.
